What are some cars on your local CLs that just don’t ever sell? On mine, I can’t remember this Buick Century ever not being for sale. It’s always been $1500, and I imagine the stupid dealer is holding firm to that number, otherwise it would’ve sold by now. Or maybe it reeks of cigarettes and has bodies in the trunk or something. Part of me almost wants to make an offer out of pity, but I have zero desire for this poor thing, so that’s not happening.

Then there’s the ones that come back periodically. Namely, this E34. Some idiot dealer has been “trying” to sell this Touring for at least 3 years. Sometimes the ad has pictures, sometimes it doesn’t. He’s dropped from $9800 originally to $8900, but sometimes it’s $8500. I emailed him once to point out that he’s asking M5 money for a low-spec Touring that probably needs a lot of attention since it’s been sitting on his lot for years. I also offered $2000 for it. He didn’t say yes.

The only things I hate are the wing and the aftermarket head unit. Other than that it seems like an alright deal, if those were CAD, not USD

Not local, but I’ve had the ad saved for almost a year now with no price drop. Yea it’s really rare, but nowhere near worth $35k.

I went and looked at this Fiero before I bought mine back in July 2013. At the time the listing was already old, the car had “been in storage several years”, it didn’t run, it had been nested in by mice, and the guy was asking more than the market value of a running example. I tried to talk him down to something reasonable, but he wouldn’t budge because he could “get a better deal from custom car builders”.

His MR-2 has been on CL for at least 2-3 years, and he has maybe dropped the price $500. I’ve never really looked at what the car is actually worth, as I have no interest in a tiny two seat convertible. But I’m guessing nowhere near $8,900.

You’d think, but this market is pretty flooded with >$1500 running cars.

This guy can’t even get rid of a $650 running car. It’s been a couple months now. I couldn’t get more than $600 for my Blazer

Oh yeah, if I had garage space I’d call him up and offer him $500. Bring it home and maybe drop a V6 in it. It’s even a 5-speed, which is the more desirable trans.

This RSX Type-S has been for sale for over a year. The price dropped a few weeks ago from 6500 to 6300. And it’s only 30 minutes away from me. Even iwith the low miles it’s a 7000 dollar car. Even though it’s a Toyota people still think he MR2 is too exotic so it’s had to sell one. There’s a few near me that have been for sale at 7500-8000 with similar mileage. By theu aren’t selling at that price. I which I had bought one before I got a kid my wife has ruled out the idea of me owning a car with less than 3 seats.

This 2010 Lancer has been for sale for about four months. I kind of want it, but insurance is stupid expensive for these.

This Aries has been for sale for a while , but is definitely not worth the nearly $6k they want for it.

But that’s the amusing thing about insurance and statistics. It’s cheaper for me to insure a Mustang GT than a Civic because more people my age are buying and crashing Civics than they are with Mustangs. It’s stupid.

It’s been in Bartertown for going on two years at least. He has added pictures that show it’s movable (though not necessarily under its own power) but he’s asking more for this than I paid for my camper. $6,200 for a malaise Bustleback is CP. Was two years ago, still is today.
